Elizabeth Wilson

Dance Instructor/Host/DJ

Elizabeth is thrilled to be a part of the amazing staff for the Let’s Dance Cruise. If you asked Elizabeth’s mom, she would probably tell you that Elizabeth danced before she walked! She has been dancing in some form since she was 2 ½! She took ballet, tap and jazz lessons at JeanAnn’s School of Dance in her hometown of Stroud, OK. When she reached high school, JeanAnn asked her to help teach the younger classes at the studio. She gladly accepted! When she decided to go to Oklahoma City University, she just KNEW she was supposed to be a dancer and so she auditioned for the very competitive dance department at OCU. She was rejected!! She was devastated at this news because she knew in her heart she was a dancer! A short 7 years later, she took her first ballroom dance lesson and 13 years later, she decided to pursue teaching ballroom dance! In 2013, she ventured off to San Francisco to take a 4 month intensive course through Ballroom Dance Teacher College (BDTC) to be an instructor. Life came full circle…she IS still a dancer!! After completing the program with high honors, she returned to Oklahoma to begin her instructing career. She has been teaching at Harpe’s Dance Studio for several years and can’t imagine where she would be as a dancer, competitor or pro without finding the Harpe’s! She primarily teaches beginner level students who are pursuing dance for a variety of reasons: weddings, a significant other, exercise, or competitive reasons. She also taught ballroom dance for 2 years as a middle school dance teacher in the Oklahoma City Public School System. Elizabeth began competing in the United Country Western Dance Council (UCWDC) circuit in 2015 with her former dance partner, Brian Picard. In 2016, they won a World Championship in UCWDC Couples Crystal II division. In 2015, she began competing with her coach Lee Harpe in the UCWDC ProPro Open II division. In January of 2018, Elizabeth won the UCWDC World Championship ProPro Open II division with Lee Harpe. In January 2018, one of her students also won a World Championship. Elizabeth loves reading, laying in her hammock, home projects with her dad, eating food, having drinks with friends, a good chai tea, and traveling! She was a nanny in Spain and has backpacked thru multiple countries! She looks forward to traveling to new places with you as we embark on Let’s Dance Travel Dance Cruise!!
